Design process - the journey

The design process is the journey your garden takes, starting with your first contact with me. It is completed when you have reached your destination, through advice, ideas, plans, design and construction.

At the consultation meeting I aim to see the garden through your eyes and understand what your requirements are. Then I will help you see the possibilities that emerge through the design process.

Landscape Design Drawing

Malcolm can visit your garden to undertake a survey and hear your views about what you want from the garden Based on the survey Malcolm can produce a map showing the layout of your garden and highlighting any issues Knowing what your garden is like now and what you want from it, Malcolm can produce ideas about how your garden can be developed When you have decided which ideas you want to incorporate in your garden Malcolm can go on to produce detailed layout drawings. When the framework of the garden is planned, the detailed planting plan of the garden can be developed, making best use of aspect, colour and texture. Getting from a design to a completed garden requires Tender documents, which enable a contractor to specify and cost the scheme. Project monitoring ensures that the contractor completes the garden to the original specification and that you are happy with the result. Image of design process - explained in text
